Simon Sun is a musician from Perth, Western Australia. Simon has been writing, recording, and performing his original compositions as a soloist and in bands since 1990. His music has been influenced by many styles of music including: folk/roots, indie rock, ambience, reggae, hip hop, celtic tones, eastern scales, and the blues. The lyrics address a range of social and personal issues in an accessible way that can be enjoyed by people accross generations. Simons' band, Project Earthbone includes members; Rodney O'byrne on bass, and Gavin Mackay on drums.

Rowland Benjamin is a multimedia artist and the main person behind The Eco Freako Show. His unique sound doesn’t fit into any one particular genre, but includes ideas from pop, blues, rock, folk and techno. The music has both an experimental and traditional quality.

There are three main components to the music - a pre-recorded backing track, a vocal part and guitar part. The backing tracks include conventional instruments such as bass, keyboard, percussion, brass and electronic and experimental soundscapes. Each backing track is supported with skilfully crafted live lead and rhythm guitar, and vocal song lyrics. A series of colourful and educational animations and images synchronise with the music.

The three characters in the show are Dr Eco Freako (a nerdy scientist), the Grim Reaper (death), and the Green Sower (life). The characters have unique personalities, costumes, movements, facial expressions, voices, lighting, ideological positions and roles in explaining the issues in an interesting way. Rowland uses short pieces of political satire, where the three main characters interact verbally and physically with life size plywood images of politicians and business leader’s.

Other stage props include a white screen on which the animation is projected and three painted backdrops – one for each character - a laboratory for Dr Freako, a cave for the Grim Reaper and a jungle scene for the Green Sower.
